Cooking with Lavender: Easy Ways to Bring Lavender to the Table
People love the smell of lavender. What surprises them is how good it can be in the kitchen.
One of the things we hear most often at the farm is:
“But what do I actually do with it?”
The answer is usually easier than people expect.
A little lavender can brighten roasted vegetables, soften a cocktail, add something unexpected to desserts, or turn an ordinary cup of tea into something you slow down for. Used well, it shouldn’t overpower—it should gently round things out.
That’s exactly what we hoped to create with this season’s collaborations: products that feel approachable, versatile, and genuinely easy to enjoy in everyday life.
Here are a few of our favorite ways to use them lately.
Rinn’s Pantry × Hambly Lavender Farm
Fleur & Sel Finishing Salt
One tiny sprinkle changes everything.
We’ve been using Fleur & Sel on:
sliced tomatoes with olive oil
avocado toast
grilled peaches
dark chocolate brownies
warm popcorn with butter
Try this:
Lavender Burrata Toast
Toasted sourdough + burrata + peaches + hot honey + Fleur & Sel.
Perfect with wine on the patio.
Ooh La La Herbs de Provence
Savory, warm, and one of the easiest ways to start cooking with lavender.
Our current favorite:
Roasted Chicken Provençal
Toss chicken thighs, potatoes, olive oil, garlic, lemon, and Ooh La La Herbs de Provence onto a sheet pan and roast until golden.
That’s it.
The lavender quietly lifts everything without screaming “lavender.”
With Sugar on Top Lavender Sugar
This one disappears quickly around here.
Add it to:
coffee
iced matcha
blueberry muffins
fresh whipped cream
lemon bars
shortbread cookies
Or make this:
Lavender Gin Fizz
Gin + lemon juice + sparkling water + a spoonful of lavender sugar.
Fresh, floral, and especially good on warm evenings.
Sierra Honey Farm × Hambly Lavender Farm
Lavender Infused Honey
One of the most versatile things in the pantry.
We love it:
drizzled over yogurt and berries
added to tea
spooned onto warm biscuits
paired with goat cheese
over vanilla ice cream with flaky salt
Unexpected favorite:
A little lavender honey in homemade salad dressing with Dijon and olive oil.
Especially good with peaches, arugula, and grilled chicken.
Sugar + Spoon × Hambly Lavender Farm
Lavender + Honey Caramels with Sea Salt
Soft, buttery, lightly floral, and somehow impossible to stop eating.
A few ways people use them:
chopped into brownies
melted over ice cream
tucked into gift baskets
paired with espresso after dinner
Or eaten straight from the fridge while hiding from your family for five minutes. Also acceptable.
Root Elixirs × Hambly Lavender Farm
Strawberry Lavender Mixer
This one was made for easy hosting.
Easiest summer drink:
Pour over ice with sparkling water and lemon.
Done.
Add gin or vodka if you'd like—or don’t.
We’ve also been freezing it into popsicles lately, which feels very Central Coast summer.
Spice of Life × Hambly Lavender Farm
Mint & Lavender Herbal Tea
Cooling, calming, and especially good iced.
Farm favorite:
Brew it strong, chill it overnight, then pour over ice with a spoonful of lavender honey and fresh lemon.
The kind of drink that makes afternoons feel slower.
Yes Cocktail Co. × Hambly Lavender Farm
Lavender Simple Syrup
Probably the easiest entry point into lavender.
A splash instantly upgrades:
lemonade
sparkling water
iced coffee
cocktails
matcha
whipped cream
One easy favorite:
Sparkling lavender lemonade with crushed strawberries and mint.
From the Farm to the Table
Everything in these collaborations starts the same way: lavender grown here on our family farm in San Miguel, California.
From there, it becomes part of recipes, gatherings, slow dinners, drinks with friends, and little everyday rituals at home.
That’s always been our favorite way to experience lavender—not as something overly precious, but as something beautiful, useful, and easy to enjoy.

We’ll gladly tell you what we’ve been cooking lately.
