FAQs

  • Lavender in Paso Robles typically begins blooming in May, with peak color in June and July.

Each year varies depending on weather, and this season we’re seeing signs of an earlier bloom. That means the fields begin to show color sooner, but the most vibrant window can pass more quickly.

If you’re hoping to see the fields in bloom, we recommend planning your visit early and checking seasonal updates.

  • Yes — and it’s one of the best ways to experience a lavender farm in California.

At Hambly Lavender Farm, visitors can enjoy Lavender U-Pick during the season (May–September). You’re free to wander the rows at your own pace and harvest your own bouquet to bring home.

It’s a relaxed, self-guided experience — no schedule, just fresh air, open space, and lavender.

  • There are a few ways to experience Hambly Lavender Farm, depending on how you like to spend your time:

    • Wander the fields and harvest lavender with a U-Pick Day Pass

    • Join a guided farm walk to learn how lavender is grown and distilled

    • Visit during a sunset evening with local wine

    • Take part in small, hands-on workshops throughout the season

    • Spend time with the animals, browse the farm store, or simply slow down

Most visits are intentionally unhurried — designed to help you step away from the busy and settle into something a little calmer.

  • We recommend reserving in advance, especially during peak season.

At Hambly Lavender Farm, day passes and experiences are limited to keep the farm calm and uncrowded, and weekends often fill quickly. Planning ahead helps ensure you get the date and experience you want.

  • Yes — everything we make starts here.

At Hambly Lavender Farm, our lavender is grown, harvested, and distilled on our family farm in San Miguel, California. We produce our essential oils using a traditional copper still and craft products in small batches using those same farm-grown ingredients.

Nothing is outsourced, which helps ensure freshness, quality, and consistency in every product.

  • Lavender hydrosol is a gentle, water-based product created during the distillation of essential oil.

It’s one of the most versatile products we make, and it’s commonly used as a facial mist, linen spray, or light natural fragrance. It can also be used after sun exposure or to refresh skin throughout the day.

It has a softer scent than essential oil and can be used more freely — an easy way to bring a little calm into your everyday routine.

  • Hambly Lavender Farm is located in San Miguel, California, just north of Paso Robles in the heart of the Central Coast wine country.

We’re an easy drive from Paso Robles and San Luis Obispo, making the farm a natural stop during a day of exploring the region.
