What happens at Hambly Farms during off-season?
We’ve been getting this question a lot so we thought it would be fun to chat a little about life on the farm! We’re still very busy working through all the 4000+ lavender pants we’ve harvested!
We just received a Besel Lavender Processing machine that will help to tackle the racks and racks of drying lavender bundles.
This machine de-stems and cleans the lavender blooms to prepare them for products. We’re so excited to have this machine - it’s already processed in 2 days what we hand-process in 10 days!
Once the buds are de-stemmed and cleaned, they can be used for sachets, hot/cold therapy millet bags, culinary recipes, and more!
When we’re not working on the things listed above, we’re prepping holiday things (yes, already!) and working on fresh new ideas for next season!
There are so many lavender products, how do I decide which to get?

We always like to say that there’s a lavender product for everything.
Our Lavender Spray and Lavender Flower Water each have different uses!
Think of this like a room/linen spray. Bedrooms, bathrooms, laundry rooms, cars, offices… you name it! It’s great for anywhere you want to impart a little freshness! Our favorite is on bedsheets for a peaceful night’s sleep.
This one is more like a body spray. Use it as a facial toner, after-sun care, light moisturizer, setting spray, or perfume! We’ve been using this a lot during the hot summer as a bug repellant, too!

Milton went back to the classroom earlier this month and our daughter, Avery, went back to Chico State for school last week, so it’s been just me (Gina) handling all the farm chores most days. I’m grateful for the animals’ company and help, and excited to have the time to dream up new experiences for next season! We have some fun things in the works and the farm may look a little different next time you come out… we’ll share more as we get going!
