A Hambly Farms Guide to A Peaceful Holiday
Whether or not you really love the holidays, visitors, and having a full house, the holidays are meant to be peaceful - and weâre here with a few tips on how to make sure they are!
If youâre hostingâĻ.
Our advice is to set the tone - if guests enter a peaceful home, itâs easier to keep it peaceful!
So, how do you do that?
Spritz lavender spray by the front door, arrange lavender bouquets in the foyer and on the countertops, set out lavender flower water in the bathroom, put the towels in the dryer with a lavender dryer bagâĻ and if you get really desperate, sneak away and rub lavender calming oil on your temples and wrists before you head back out to the kitchen.
If youâre attendingâĻ
You know that houses donât just stay as clean as you see them during holidays, pantries donât just fill themselves with groceries, and the table doesnât just set itselfâĻ itâs a lot of work to host! - and thatâs before anyone even arrives!
This year, give your host a gift theyâll really want - like the gift of a delicious lavender-infused cocktail kit!
Need other ideas? This at-home spa box is the perfect gift that will allow your host to settle in and rest after the party ends!
PsstâĻ
Did you know that lavender on its own has many antibacterial, anti-fungal and antiseptic properties? Itâs also a natural deodorizer!
That makes it the perfect ingredient for a natural all-purpose cleaner spray!
Make your own lavender-infused all-purpose cleaner!
Youâll need:
1/4 cup dried lavender buds
1 cup white vinegar
1 cup distilled water
lemon or lavender essential oil
How to make it:
First, infuse your vinegar by adding the dried lavender buds to a mason jar of vinegar, then seal and let sit for 7-10 days to infuse. Strain the infused vinegar and pour it into a clean spray bottle. Add the distilled water and 15-30 drops of lavender essential oil to the spray bottle. Screw the lid on tight and shake to mix - and voila!
Use wherever you have messes for a nontoxic cleaning experience!

Love NotesâĻ
Summer ended quickly but we had quite an unexpectedly long fall - and it brought a beautiful Hidcote Lavender re-bloom! We had plenty of bright purple florals in the field, so we made a decision on a whim to open the farm to visitors this past weekend only and boy was it fun!
We love the holiday season and getting to focus on creating new products with all of our harvested lavender, but it sure is nice to see your smiling faces on the farm! In fact, weâve already begun dreaming up new experiences at the farm for next seasonâĻ and we canât wait to share them with you!
We hope to see you soon!
Love,
Gina & Milton Hambly
